Job description

We are currently seeking a Service Writer for our Ottawa Brandt Peterbilt location. This position is responsible for assisting the service manager in maintaining accurate and on-time reports and records related to the Service Department's operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Fields internal and external customer inquiries to the Service Department.
2. Opens work orders as directed by the Service Manager/Shop Foreman and maintains control until they are closed and invoiced.
3. Maintains the service library with current information (e.g., files bulletins, manuals, multimedia, etc.) under the direct supervision of the Service Manager.
4. Maintains Service Department filing and records.
5. Updates customer profiles using information from customer work orders, such as equipment, hours, etc.
6. Maintains accessories and supplies and prepares replacement orders.
7. May prepare Service Technician efficiency reports.
8. May process warranty and/or product improvement claims, including computation of charges, submission, and follow-up.
