Job summary

Makita Canada Inc. in Whitby is seeking a Service Technician in the Refurb Department.

You will assist with repairs of our tools and equipment, including electric (AC/DC), pneumatic and gasoline-powered tools, and you will visually inspect, dismantle, troubleshoot and test to Makita standards. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and about one year of related repair experience, plus ability to read and interpret maintenance documents.

• Experience with desktop software applications.

Responsibilities

Service Technician - Refurb Department Whitby, ON

As a Technician in the Refurb Department, you are key to our after-sales service. You are responsible for assisting with repairs of our products/equipment, including electric (both AC & DC), pneumatic and gasoline-powered tools.

To be successful you will have:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One (1) year of related experience repairing tools/equipment.
• Knowledge and experience using and repairing electric (both AC & DC), pneumatic and gasoline-powered tools.
• Experience with desktop software applications

What you bring to the team:

• Comprehension: Ability to read, interpret and explain documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Strong planning and organizational skills to be able to prioritize your work.
• Ability to work in a team environment and independently with minimum supervision.
• Knowledge of inventory control, shipping and receiving an asset.
• Ability to work in a noisy environment, with the ability to stand and/or sit for long periods of time, also includes a lot of reaching, lifting, pushing/pulling, bending, and twisting.
• $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
