Job description

Reporting to the Business Centre's Manager, the Service Technician is responsible for completing a variety of required services and customer support both in house as well as in a mobile capacity, on safety related equipment. Duties to include : fire extinguisher servicing, gas detection certification service and repairs, hydro-testing, Quantitative Fit testing, inspection / certification of fall arrest equipment. Additionally, this role will involve supporting our inside sales team and shipping / receiving.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Manage, Test, Repair and Re-Certify customer owned equipment according to manufacturer specifications and local standards;
• Arrange for Customer authorization of work orders;
• Maintain adequate stock levels in mobile unit;
• Create and maintain accurate records such as vehicle inspections, driving logs, equipment inspections, and schedules, daily invoices, timesheets, flow tests and notes for any special circumstances such as condemning equipment;
• Ensure updating of customer contact list and schedule of required services;
• Develop and manage growth in the portfolio by working closely with customers, our Sales department and Management;
• Assist other staff with their duties when schedule and workload allows for such;
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS :

• Professional and courteous demeanor;
• Troubleshooting;
• Excellent organizational skills;
• Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English;
• Manufacturer training in inspection and maintenance of safety related equipment or industry training would be an asset;
• Valid Class 5 driver's license;
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds periodically;
• NFPA certification a benefit but not essential;
• Training and Certification will be provided to the right individual where applicable.
