Job description

Choose Your Specialty. Build Your Career
Where Great Technicians Do Their Best Work

Behind every reliable machine is a skilled technician who takes pride in doing the job right.

As a Shop Service Technician at ALPA Equipment, you'll work in a well-equipped shop alongside an experienced team of professionals, repairing and maintaining some of the industry's most respected forestry and construction equipment.

From advanced diagnostics and complete component rebuilds to preventative maintenance and inspections, every day brings a different challenge. You'll have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of equipment while continuing to develop your technical skills through manufacturer training and hands‑on experience.

Unlike many dealerships that focus on a single manufacturer, ALPA Equipment gives you the opportunity to broaden your expertise by working on premium brands such as Ponsse, Rotobec, Landrich, Terex Fuchs, JCB, and Hyundai, as well as a variety of other equipment our customers rely on.

Whether you're an experienced Heavy Equipment Technician looking for your next challenge or a skilled tradesperson ready to apply your expertise to heavy equipment, ALPA Equipment offers the opportunity to build a rewarding career with a company that values quality, teamwork, and continuous learning.

If you're looking for more than just your next job—and you're ready to build a long‑term career with a company that values your experience, supports your development, and recognizes your contributions—we'd like to meet you.

Why ALPA Equipment?

ALPA Equipment is a proudly family‑owned company serving customers across Atlantic Canada and Eastern Quebec. We've earned our reputation by delivering quality equipment, dependable service, and building lasting relationships with our customers.

Our customers count on their equipment every day. They also count on the people who keep it running. That's why we believe great technicians need the training, technology, and support to do their best work.

We invest in ongoing manufacturer training, modern diagnostic technology, and opportunities for career growth. We believe great technicians never stop learning, and we're committed to creating an environment where skilled tradespeople can continue developing their skills while building rewarding careers.

Equipment You'll Work With

No two days are the same.

You'll have the opportunity to work on a wide range of forestry and construction equipment, including:

  • Rotobec material handlers and attachments
  • Landrich forestry equipment
  • A variety of other makes and models serviced for our customers

The variety of equipment means you'll continue developing your skills while gaining experience across multiple product lines, manufacturers, and technologies.

Reporting to the Service Manager, you'll be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, rebuilding, and maintaining equipment in our service shop.

Working alongside an experienced team, you'll use advanced diagnostic equipment and specialized tools to complete repairs safely, efficiently, and to the high standards our customers expect.

A Typical Day
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic issues on forestry and construction equipment.
  • Perform repairs, inspections, preventative maintenance, and complete equipment servicing.
  • Rebuild and repair major components.
  • Use manufacturer diagnostic software, electronic testing equipment, and specialized tools to identify and resolve issues.
  • Inspect equipment and recommend repairs or maintenance that improve performance and reliability.
  • Complete service documentation accurately and professionally.
  • Work collaboratively with fellow technicians and the Service Department.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Deliver quality workmanship while representing ALPA Equipment's commitment to exceptional customer service.
What You'll Bring

We're looking for skilled tradespeople who enjoy troubleshooting, take pride in quality workmanship, and enjoy working as part of a team.

We encourage applications from:

  • Truck and Transport Technicians
  • Experienced mechanics with transferable hydraulic, diesel, electrical, or mechanical diagnostic skills

  • The ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
  • A commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
  • Flexibility to work overtime when required.
  • A valid driver's licence.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) may be considered an asset depending on the branch, territory, and customer base.
Why Join ALPA Equipment?

Don’t Meet Every Qualification?

If you have strong mechanical aptitude, relevant trade experience, and a willingness to learn, we encourage you to apply. We recognize that great technicians come from a variety of backgrounds and would welcome the opportunity to learn more about what you can bring to our team.

At ALPA Equipment, we're not just looking for someone to fill a position—we're looking for someone who wants to build a career.
