Qualifications

Position Summary

Are you interested in becoming a Service Technician or do you have experience in the downstream maintenance, electrical, calibration, carwashes, and construction industry? Do you have knowledge of tank rental and mobile cardlock solutions? If so, BarW is the place for you! Reporting to the Service Manager, you will be an integral part of our team performing electronic and mechanical repairs. Working closely with our customers and adhering to BarW processes and regulations, you will conduct in-house and on-site repairs for our customers’ businesses.

Our technicians specialize in Retail/Commercial Gas Stations, Cardlock/Bulk Petroleum sites, Carwashes, and Commercial/Industrial Electrical Services for Maintenance and Construction across Western Canada, Yukon, & NWT.

The position can be located in either Red Deer or Edmonton.

What will you be doing?
  • Perform electronic and mechanical repairs, including on-site and in-house repairs of equipment and technology.
  • Installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of all fuel dispensing and related equipment.
  • Repair carwash operating equipment at various stations.
  • Maintain customer relationships by managing calls to improve service and reduce costs, including planning for necessary tools and equipment.
  • Contribute ideas for operational and technical improvements to existing equipment and technology.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Follow health and safety policies and practices to ensure a safe working environment.
Are you qualified?
  • High school diploma.
  • Proficient (with at least 2 years’ experience) in mechanical and petroleum troubleshooting or related industry experience.
  • Must complete and be certified in CPCA PM1 Training.
  • Ability to operate software applications accurately.
  • Knowledge of computerized machinery and proficiency with hand tools.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license; a clean Driver’s Abstract is required.
  • Willing to pursue continuing education to enhance performance.
  • Maintain strong technical knowledge of equipment through on-the-job training and training programs.
Work Schedule
  • Focus on work-life balance.
  • Required to work away from home and overnight as needed.
  • Availability to be on-call 24/7 for service calls when scheduled.
