Job Summary

As a Field Service Technician, you will operate on-site to perform preventative maintenance, repair equipment, and install replacement parts related to RYKO, MacNeil, Belanger and competitor's vehicle wash equipment and accessories. The Service Technician will also train customers on basic equipment maintenance.

Job Duties

  1. Perform service work on vehicle wash equipment and accessories including troubleshooting of electrical, electronic, and mechanical problems to ascertain the needed corrective action
  2. Replace, repair, or adjust parts and systems as necessary
  3. In accordance with preventative maintenance contracts, inspect, lubricate, and check wax and detergent levels as applicable
  4. Run equipment through 'cycles' to ensure the complete system is functioning properly
  5. Advise customers of necessary service work and make recommendations regarding replacement of worn or damaged parts, systems, etc.
  6. Following unit installation, inspect equipment to ensure proper function
  7. Provide information and training to customers regarding proper operation and general maintenance of equipment
  8. Develop and maintain good rapport with customers, striving to provide outstanding service and ensure customer satisfaction
  9. May deliver parts, chemicals, or supplies to customers
  10. Complete work orders, expense reports, and daily/weekly time logs
  11. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of equipment changes or modifications through various resources such as maintenance manuals, service bulletins & how-to videos in our Learning Management System (LMS), or engineering documents
  12. Maintain proper inventory of parts on service vehicle and in warehouse. Report inventory levels as required
  13. Keep Service and District Manager informed of all significant problems, progress, or barriers to success
  14. Comply with all applicable OHSA, ESA, POST and other provincial regulatory laws, as well as company safety policies
  15. Any other duties as assigned by the Installation/Service Manager

Qualifications

  1. High school diploma or equivalent
  2. Minimum of 2 years experience as a Service Technician in a related area
  3. Clean driving record with no more than 3 moving violations within the past 5 years; no more than 2 preventable, at-fault accidents within the past 5 years
  4. No impaired driving convictions within the past 10 years and no charges currently pending
  5. Ability to use basic math and writing skills
  6. Demonstrable interest and aptitude in mechanical, plumbing, and electrical work through school or hobby interest, including using meters and ACDC power supply
  7. Ability to interpret equipment, operation, and maintenance manuals and instructions
  8. Ability to work independently or within a team
  9. Forklift experience and/or ability to obtain forklift certification
  10. Committed to customer satisfaction and able to adapt/respond to different personalities
  11. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  12. Intermediate computer skills, experience with Microsoft and Google Suite
  13. Excellent communication and organizational skills
  14. Adequate sight to read engineering documents and work orders
  15. Ability to work hours plus overtime as needed
  16. Must be local to the GTA Greater Toronto Area

Physical Requirements

  1. Ability to lift items of light to heavy weight, up to 50 lbs.
  2. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, perform repetitive motions, climb ladders, and stand for prolonged periods

Hourly Wage Range: $25-31 based on experience.

Work Shift: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm and rotating weekends
