Job summary

Sport Chek is seeking a Service Shop Technician to interact with customers, assess their needs, and set up, repair, and maintain sporting equipment. You will ensure safety and service quality to help athletes return to activity.

Role focuses on ski/snowboard tuning, mounting, and maintaining equipment, with emphasis on customer service and teamwork in a retail environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of previous work experience in a ski/snowboard shop.
• Some, Intermediate, or Advanced experience working on skis or snowboards.
• Previous ski, snowboard experience.

Responsibilities

• Assemble/disassemble different types of ski & Snowboards.
• Ski & snowboard mounting, waxing and tuning.
• Maintain snow equipment.

Job Description

As a Service Shop Technician, you’re as good with people as you are with your hands. After all, it’s your job to interact with customers, assess their needs, and then setup, repair, and maintain their sporting equipment. In helping athletes get back to living "The Power of Sport", all safety measures will be taken to ensure their equipment is serviced to the manufacturer’s specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Assembling/disassembling different types of ski & Snowboards
• Ski & snowboard mounting, waxing and tuning
• Maintain snow equipment
• Deliver exceptional customer experience to support your team in achieving performance targets

Required Skills and Knowledge

Our typical hiring range is between $18.00 and $26.00 per hour. Salary decisions are also dependent on other factors such as your experience, job-related knowledge, skills and competencies, store size and market location, industry benchmarks, internal equity and other role-specific requirements.
