Job summary

Devcore is seeking an experienced Service / Maintenance Technician to support the Gatineau/Ottawa region. Reporting to the Real Estate Portfolio Director, the role involves routine maintenance and repairs for buildings and facilities, including preventive and corrective tasks in residential units and common areas.

Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, coordinating with subcontractors, and participating in on-call rotations to ensure tenant satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a similar role, preferably in building maintenance or real estate maintenance.
  • Ability to diagnose technical issues and carry out practical repairs.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously based on priorities.
  • Excellent customer service skills when interacting with tenants.
  • Valid driver’s licence to travel between different sites.

  • Repair, replace, or adjust building components such as faucets, toilets, doors, windows, handles, hinges, shelves, and fixtures.
  • Remove and dispose of items left behind in vacant units according to company policies.
  • Respond promptly to tenant repair requests and ensure proper follow-up on work completed.
  • Report major defects, equipment failures, or repair needs and recommend corrective actions.
  • Identify materials, parts, and equipment required for maintenance and repair work.
  • Coordinate and follow up on subcontractor work to ensure quality standards.
  • Participate in preventive building maintenance and keep areas clean, safe, and organized.
  • Contribute to building safety by participating in on-call rotations and emergency interventions.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Service / Maintenance Technician for the Gatineau/Ottawa region. Reporting to the Real Estate Portfolio Director, you will be responsible for carrying out routine maintenance and repair tasks for buildings and facilities.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance work in residential units and common areas, including basic plumbing, basic electrical work, painting, flooring, carpentry, and general repairs.
  • Repair, replace, or adjust various building equipment and components, including faucets, toilets, doors, windows, handles, hinges, screens, mouldings, baseboards, shelves, shower rods, and other accessories.
  • Remove and dispose of items left behind in vacant units in accordance with company policies.
  • Respond promptly to tenant repair requests and ensure proper follow-up on work completed.
  • Report any major defects, equipment failures, or significant repair needs, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Identify the materials, parts, and equipment required for maintenance and repair work.
  • Coordinate and follow up on work performed by subcontractors to ensure compliance with the company’s quality standards.
  • Participate in preventive building maintenance and keep work areas clean, safe, and well organized.
  • Contribute to building safety by participating in on-call rotations, emergency interventions, and service calls outside regular working hours, when required.
  • Perform any other related tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor.

  • Strong customer service skills, courtesy, and professionalism when interacting with tenants.
  • Valid driver’s licence to travel between different sites.
