Job summary

Home Instead in Halifax is seeking a dedicated Service Coordinator to organize care schedules, support our Care Professionals, and match caregivers with clients in a fast-paced, team-based environment.

You will manage scheduling changes, build relationships with clients and families, monitor attendance, and participate in after-hours on-call shifts. This full-time role offers competitive compensation, benefits, and opportunities for training and growth within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong computer skills and attention to detail.
• Experience in scheduling, administration, or customer service preferred.
• Healthcare or caregiving experience considered an asset.
• Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle considered assets.

Responsibilities

• Respond to calls and resolve scheduling concerns.
• Arrange coverage for last-minute absences and schedule changes.
• Monitor missed clock-ins and clock-outs and follow up as needed.
• Keep clients and Care Professionals informed of changes.

What You'll Do

• Coordinate care schedules with a focus on consistency for clients and Care Professionals.

After-Hours On-Call

Responsibilities

As part of our rotating on-call team, you'll help ensure clients and Care Professionals receive reliable support outside regular office hours. Responsibilities include:

• Responding to calls and resolving scheduling concerns.
• Arranging coverage for last-minute absences and schedule changes.
• Monitoring missed clock-ins and clock-outs and following up as needed.
• Keeping clients and Care Professionals informed of changes.

On-call rotation includes approximately 1-2 evenings per week and every 3rd-5th weekend.
