Job summary

Silver Hotel Group is recruiting a part-time Server for Mossop's Social House at Hotel Victoria in downtown Toronto. The Server will deliver friendly, timely service, have knowledge of the menu, manage payments, and support other hotel service tasks.

A positive attitude and strong guest focus are essential. Experience in food and beverage is preferred, with Smart-Serve and Food Safe certifications advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience in Food and Beverage department or industry.
• Cash handling experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of Food Hygiene Regulations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet and serve guests in a friendly, timely, and efficient manner.
• Serve beverages and food in correct sequence and ensure orders are accurate.
• Know the menu offerings and promote specials as appropriate.
• Maintain clean and stocked service stations and assist other hotel areas as needed.
• Process payments and issue receipts where applicable.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Food and Beverage Experience Manager, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

• Manage guest queries in a friendly, timely, and efficient manner;
• Serve Alcoholic/non-Alcoholic beverages in conjunction with licensing/liquor regulations for residents and non-residents;
• Ensure knowledge of the menu and all products;
• Ensure that floor stations are stocked and tidy at all times;
• Follow correct reporting procedures if faced with issues;
• Serve food and beverages in proper sequence, including tableside wine service where applicable.
• Ensure Food and Beverage orders are of a consistently good standard and delivered in a timely manner;
• Adhere to hotel grooming standards, including uniform dress code, cleanliness and personal hygiene;
• Process payments, issue receipts, return change, and post charges to guest accounts
• Support other hotel and restaurant areas as needed, including but not limited to phone handling and additional service tasks.

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

• Experience in Food and Beverage department and/or industry;
• Previous experience in cash handling;
• Knowledge of Food Hygiene Regulations.
