Job summary

Silver Hotel Group is seeking a Room Division Supervisor for its Toronto-area property. The role focuses on responding to guest reviews, turning interactions into unique guest experiences, and coaching the team to uphold brand standards.

Responsibilities include leading the Housekeeping team in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper, conducting daily inspections, coaching staff, and ensuring smooth operations across Rooms Division. Strong leadership and guest-centric mindset are essential.

Qualifications

  • What we are looking for includes ability to handle high-pressure situations, strong judgment, and a commitment to guest satisfaction.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills are required.
  • Previous hotel Front Desk and Housekeeping experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Housekeeping team in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper and ensure brand standards.
  • Perform daily room inspections for cleanliness and maintenance needs.
  • Conduct daily housekeeping briefings and communicate priorities and VIP arrivals.
  • Provide coaching and on-the-job training to team members.
  • Review and process timesheets accurately and promptly.
  • Identify and report maintenance or condition issues to protect assets.
  • Assist Front Office with coverage and guest support as needed.
  • Act as Manager on Duty in the absence of a Department Head or General Manager.
  • Coordinate VIPs, influencers, and special arrivals to exceed guest expectations.
  • Maintain a polished lobby and public areas aligned with brand standards.
  • Support lobby café operations and guest engagement initiatives.
  • Oversee MarketPlace merchandising and presentation.
  • Participate in department meetings and cross-functional activities.
  • Communicate with Maintenance, Front Office, and F&B to ensure service delivery.
  • Log guest requests and incidents per procedures.
  • Monitor safety, cleanliness, and hygiene across areas of responsibility.
  • Identify operational efficiencies and propose improvements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Your Role

TheRooms DivisionSupervisorwill primarily focus onresponding to guest reviews and using this information to proactively prevent future guest complaints while helping teach the team how to turn transactional guest interactions into unique guest experiences that reflect the Union brand.

The Room Division Supervisor is primarily responsible for:

  • Lead the Housekeeping team in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper, ensuring smooth daily operations and adherence to hotel brand standards.
  • Conduct daily room inspections for cleanliness, maintenance needs, and compliance with quality and brand expectations.
  • Deliver daily Housekeeping morning briefings, communicating priorities, VIP arrivals, safety reminders, and operational updates.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and on-the-job training to team members to support performance, service excellence, and professional development.
  • Review and process team member timesheets accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Identify, document, and report maintenance or condition issues promptly to ensure guest satisfaction and protect hotel assets.
  • Assist the Front Office Team with operational coverage and guest support as needed, maintaining consistent service across the Rooms Division.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) in the absence of a Department Head or General Manager, ensuring all guest issues and complaints are resolved professionally, promptly, and with empathy.
  • Coordinate preparation for VIP guests, influencers, and special arrivals, ensuring guest rooms, amenities, and public areas exceed expectations.
  • Maintain a polished, clean, and professional appearance of the lobby, front entrance, public areas, elevators, and corridors in alignment with brand standards.
  • Support lobby café operations and assist with lobby activations and guest engagement initiatives as required.
  • Oversee the stocking, organization, and visual merchandising of the hotel MarketPlace, ensuring availability, cleanliness, and brand-compliant presentation.
  • Participate actively in department meetings, cross-functional team activities, and hotel events to support overall operational success.
  • Communicate effectively with all departments—including Maintenance, Front Office, and Food & Beverage—to coordinate service delivery and resolve operational challenges.
  • Ensure all guest requests, incidents, and operational updates are properly logged and communicated in accordance with hotel procedures.
  • Monitor adherence to safety procedures, cleanliness protocols, and hygiene standards across all areas of responsibility.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying operational efficiencies and proposing enhancements to guest service and colleague workflows.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Must be available to work flexible as required by management.
