The Glynmill Inn in Corner Brook, NL, operated by Steele Hotels, is hiring servers. The role requires a friendly, professional attitude and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with varying shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

Founded in 1970, Steele Hotels is an independent hotel operator based out of Newfoundland and Labrador Canada. With origins in Gander, NL the company has grown to include 8 properties located in St. John's, NL, Corner Brook, NL, and Fredericton, NB.

Steele Hotels is looking for Servers to join our growing team at The Glynmill Inn in Corner Brook, NL. The ideal candidate would possess a positive "can-do" attitude, and a high level of professionalism, coupled with a strong work ethic and customer service skills. This often involves working in fast-paced environment conditions at varying times throughout the day or night.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and professionally in a friendly and polite manner
• Provide guests with menus and introduce them to the daily specials
• Take accurate food and beverage orders and serve food, noting preferences and dietary restrictions
• Check in with guests during their meal to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns
• Maintain a strong knowledge of the menu, with the ability to make suggestions and drink pairings
• Present bills to guests, process payments accurately, and handle cash or credit transactions
• Keep dining areas clean and organized, clearing dishes and resetting tables
• Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations
• Follow safe serving procedures for serving alcohol, checking IDs when necessary
• Restock server station with the necessary supplies
• Perform other duties, as assigned

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

• 1-2 years’ experience years as a Server in the hospitality or food service industry
• Ability to collaborate with kitchen staff and other servers to provide smooth service to customers
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to handle multiple tables and tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail and accuracy in order processing and cash handling
• Quick problem-solving skills when dealing with customer complaints
• Must be able to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
