Job summary

Chartwell Retirement Residences Amherstburg is seeking a Dining Server for part-time and casual opportunities to deliver meals and service at residents’ tables and during events.

You will prepare food, take orders, clear tables, maintain hygiene, follow instructions, and show empathy for seniors in a supportive, inclusive team environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a kitchen is asset.
• Ability to read and communicate effectively; follow written/verbal instructions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and handle related equipment.
• Demonstrate empathy and understanding of the needs of seniors.
• Organize work and work under strict time constraints.
• High standard of hygiene and cleanliness; current Safe Food Handler's Certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food for serving to residents and ensure satisfaction with meal service.
• Take orders, set and strip tables, and serve food/beverages per policies.
• Unpack and store supplies; maintain clean, safe storage areas.
• Wash, clean and sort dishes, cutlery, fixtures and equipment.
• Operate and clean dining area and related equipment.
• All other duties as assigned.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a Dining Server. This role is responsible for serving meals and servicing catering events while ensuring an exceptional dining experience to residents and guests.

What You'll Do

• Prepare food for serving to the residents and ensuring resident satisfaction with meal service
• Take orders, setting and stripping tables and serving food/beverages in accordance with established policies and procedures and all applicable regulations
• Unpack and store supplies; maintain work and storage areas in a clean, safe sanitary manner
• Wash, clean and sort dishes, cutlery, fixtures and equipment used for food preparation and service
• Operate and clean food equipment, furniture and maintain dining area
• All other duties as assigned

What You'll Bring

• Experience working in a kitchen is considered an asset
• Must be able to read and communicate effectively, and follow written/verbal instructions
