Job summary

Myers Kingston in Ottawa is seeking a dedicated individual to join our automotive service team. In this role, you will regulate the flow of service through the department while ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. Responsibilities

• Regulate the flow of service through the department.
• Schedule shop work efficiently according to dealership policy.
• Assign work to technicians fairly based on skill.
• Verify completion of work by technicians.
• Assist in reviewing repair orders for completeness.
• Work closely with Service Management for timely closure of repair orders.
• Oversee internal/external sublet repair control.
• Assist technicians in selling estimates when Service Advisors are busy.
• Advise service staff of technician absences.
• Monitor held RO's for various reasons.
• Attend departmental meetings.
• Collaborate with Service Advisors for administrative requirements.
• Ensure promised times are met and direct unrealistic time issues to Service Management.
• Follow up on delayed jobs.

What you will do:

• Regulatethe flow of service through the department
• Scheduleshop work as efficiently as possible in accordance with dealership policy.
• Assignwork to technicians in a fair and equitable manner by technician skill.
• Verifycompletion of work by technicians to ensure all assigned work has been properlycompleted.
• Assistin the review of repair orders for completeness. i.e. 3 c’s
• Workclosely with Service Management to ensure that all repair orders are closed outon a timely basis.
• Actas a “control” for Internal / external Sublet repair including the issue ofpurchase order.
• Toassist technicians in Selling estimates in the event that the Service Advisorsare occupied or absent.
• Adviseall Service staff of technician’s absences.
• Monitorall RO’s which are on hold for various reasons.
• Attenddepartmental meetings.
• Worksin co-operation with Service Advisors to ensure proper administrativerequirements are achieved.
• Ensurepromised times are met - directs problems with unrealistic time promises to theService Management to handle.
• Follows up on all delayed jobs
