Job summary

Blacksmith Agency is a AI-first digital agency seeking an SEO Specialist to own search strategy and execution for a book of B2B and growing-brand clients. You will steer technical roadmap, content priorities, and ranking narratives in client conversations.

You will collaborate with writers and AI to produce drafts, drive audits, and optimize for Google AI Overviews and traditional organic results. This is a fully remote role serving clients in Canada, the US, and beyond.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on in SEO; you have run audits and fixes yourself.
• Fluency with Search Console, GA4, Screaming Frog and Ahrefs or Semrush.
• Agency experience across several clients at once.
• Clear spoken English with US clients on live calls.

Responsibilities

• Own technical SEO: crawl, indexation, site speed, schema and site architecture.
• Lead keyword strategy, on-page optimization and content priorities with writers and AI drafts.
• Improve discoverability in AI search: Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity alongside classic results.
• Manage links, local search and multi-location SEO where needed.
• Provide reporting in GA4 and Search Console; drive quarterly client roadmaps.

You are the strategic voice at the table, and you make the calls.

What You Will Own

• Technical SEO: crawl, indexation, site speed, schema and site architecture.
• Keyword strategy, on-page optimization and content priorities, with writers and AI producing the drafts.
• Getting clients found in AI search: Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity, alongside classic organic results.
• Links, local search and multi-location SEO where the client needs it.
• Reporting in GA4 and Search Console, and the quarterly roadmap for each client.
