AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Watermain Design Engineer to deliver municipal infrastructure across Ontario. You will lead watermain design, coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, and mentor engineers while ensuring regulatory compliance and high-quality deliverables.

The role includes preparing proposals and working with Project Managers to manage scope, schedule, and budget. The position offers a hybrid working culture in Canada, with travel to project sites as needed and opportunities for

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• P.Eng. license in Ontario required.
• Minimum of 8 years of municipal infrastructure experience, focused on watermain and utilities.
• Valid Class G driver’s licence and ability to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of complex watermain infrastructure projects (preliminary and detailed).
• Support Project Managers in scope, schedule, budget, risks, and resources.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders for successful delivery.
• Prepare, review, and oversee drawings, specifications, cost estimates and contract docs.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship while ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Lead preparation of proposals and responses to RFPS and EOIs.

Overview

Join AtkinsRéalis as a Senior Watermain Design Engineer and play a key role in delivering innovative municipal infrastructure and civil engineering projects across Ontario. As part of the Municipal Infrastructure team within the Civil Engineering, Design and Project Management Division, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals to develop high-quality water distribution solutions that support sustainable communities and major infrastructure initiatives. Your role

• Lead the preliminary and detailed design of complex watermain infrastructure projects.
• Support Project Managers in managing project scope, schedules, budgets, risks, and resources.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
• Prepare, review, and oversee design drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and contract documents.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers, technologists, and designers while ensuring compliance with municipal standards and regulatory requirements.
• Lead the preparation of proposals and submissions in response to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Expressions of Interest (EOIs).

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licensed in Ontario.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in municipal infrastructure engineering, with a strong focus on watermain and utility design.
• Valid Class G driver's licence and ability to travel as required to project sites and client locations.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and coordinate complex design activities.
• Aptitude for technical leadership, mentoring, and building strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders.

Expected compensation for this role is between Pay Range $100,000 - $137,700 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
