Job summary

GEI Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Senior Water Modeller to lead complex water modelling initiatives shaping resilient communities in the GTA and beyond.

You will provide strategic direction, oversee projects, mentor teams, and influence infrastructure planning decisions across municipalities and conservation authorities. Ideal candidates bring 15+ years in water resources modelling, a P.Eng in Ontario or eligibility, and deep expertise in WaterCAD and Infowater Pro, with strong communication

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in water resources modelling and infrastructure planning.
• P.Eng in Ontario or eligibility required.
• Advanced expertise in hydraulic analysis.
• Proficiency in WaterCAD and Infowater Pro.
• Strong knowledge of GTA municipal standards, Ontario regulations, and conservation authority requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex water modelling studies for municipal infrastructure projects.
• Oversee development and calibration of models using Infowater Pro, WaterCAD and related platforms.
• Provide technical leadership on master planning, Class Environmental Assessments (EAs), and servicing studies.
• Manage project delivery, including scope, schedule, budget, and coordination of multidisciplinary teams.
• Act as a trusted advisor to clients, regulators, and stakeholders across the GTA.
• Mentor and develop junior and intermediate staff, fostering technical excellence and knowledge sharing.
• Review and approve high-quality deliverables including technical reports, modelling documentation, and design recommendations.
• Support business development activities, including proposal preparation, client presentations, and strategic pursuits.

You’ll provide strategic direction, oversee high-profile projects, mentor team members, and influence critical infrastructure planning decisions.

• Lead complex water modelling studies for municipal infrastructure projects
• Oversee development and calibration of models using tools such as Infowater Pro, WaterCAD and related platforms
• Provide technical leadership on master planning, Class Environmental Assessments (EAs), and servicing studies

Minimum Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or related discipline
• Minimum 15+ years of progressive experience in water resources modelling and infrastructure planning
• Professional Engineer designation (P.Eng. in Ontario) or eligibility required
• Advanced expertise in:
• Hydraulic analysis
• Proficiency in industry-standard modelling software:
• WaterCAD
• Strong knowledge of GTA municipal standards, Ontario regulations, and conservation authority requirements
• Proven experience leading complex projects and mentoring technical teams
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
• Physical and environmental requirements for this position are available upon request.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with climate change modelling, flood mitigation, and resilience planning
• Proficiency with GIS tools (ArcGIS, QGIS) and data analysis platforms
• Established relationships with local GTA municipalities and agencies
• Demonstrated success in client management and business development
