Job summary

GFT is seeking a Senior Wastewater Engineer/Project Manager to join our Water team in Mississauga, Ottawa or Toronto, ON. This role follows a hybrid work model with regular attendance at the Toronto office.

You will plan, design, and construct water/wastewater infrastructure, mentor staff, and lead business development to grow backlog and profitability. Strong leadership and client-facing skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering is required.
• 15+ years of experience in water/wastewater design and project delivery.
• Engineer (P.Eng) license required.
• Progressive experience in evaluation, design, permitting, and construction administration of water/wastewater facilities.
• Proven project management experience including budget and schedule monitoring.
• Experience in client relations and business development.
• Strong leadership, team player, planning and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design, and construction administration of municipal and industrial water and wastewater infrastructure.
• Engage with clients, deliver presentations, and coordinate project activities.
• Coordinate work of technical staff and consultants, develop study and design standards, lead progress meetings, and track schedules and budgets.
• Collaborate with municipalities and regulatory agencies.
• Oversee construction contract management and observation services.
• Prepare technical reports and permit applications.
• Mentor junior engineers to support professional growth.
