Job summary

Wesco in Calgary, Canada is seeking a Senior Associate - Supply Chain Services to perform project-based wire cutting and value-added services within the warehouse. The role includes operating cutting machinery, assembling ready-to-install products, and preparing shipments.

You will perform specialized tasks, load and unload materials, and maintain accurate documentation. This position requires physical stamina, teamwork, and safe operation of equipment.

Qualifications

  • High school degree or equivalent required.
  • 3 years of warehouse and distribution operations experience recommended.
  • Forklift experience preferred or required to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

  • Operate wire cutting machinery to cut, prepare, and ship specialized wire and cable.
  • Perform advanced warehouse tasks such as kitting, cabinet/build, rack builds.
  • Load, unload, and move materials safely, including use of forklift.
  • Complete paperwork and data entry per procedures.

Job Description

As the Senior Associate - Supply Chain Services, you will be responsible for performing project based specialized wire cutting applications and/or value-added services within the warehouse such as subsequent manufacturing and assembling ready to install products. This includes operating a cutting machine to cut, prepare, and ship specialized wire, cable, and related materials specific to customer orders.

Shift

Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

A Day in The Life of a Senior Associate

As the Senior Associate - Supply Chain Services, you will be responsible for performing project based specialized wire cutting applications and/or value-added services within the warehouse such as subsequent manufacturing and assembling ready to install products. This includes: operating a cutting machine to cut, prepare, and ship specialized wire, cable, and related materials specific to customer orders.

  • Perform technical warehouse tasks related to assigned projects (i.e. – advanced kitting, cabinet builds, rack builds, IP addressing, contractor services, etc.)
  • Operate wire cutting machinery to prepare project based specialized wire and cable cuts for shipment
  • Perform value added services specific to customer orders (i.e. – subsequent manufacturing, assembling, insta-reels, parallels, speedpulls, striping, dying, printing, etc.)
  • Load, unload, and move material in a safe manner manually or by using a forklift or other approved device
  • Complete paperwork, documentation, and data input in accordance with established procedures

Education & Experience
  • High school degree or equivalent required
  • 3 years of warehouse and distribution operations experience
  • 6 months to 1 year minimum of forklift experience
Skills & Requirements
  • Experience with specialized wire cutting
  • Ability to operate machinery and use hand tools
  • Forklift Certification strongly preferred; the ability to obtain a forklift certification is required
  • Knowledge of electrical, construction or mechanical products preferred
  • Project coordination skills
  • Attention to detailAbility to work in a team environment
  • Ability to follow direction
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, be on your feet for extended periods and climb ladders

Compensation Details

$26.50 Per Hour

This amount is what we reasonably believe we will pay for the position; however, offer amounts may vary based on factors such as geographic location, relevant education, experience, qualifications, skills, shift, or any collective bargaining agreements.

For eligible positions, compensation may include participation in a bonus or sales incentive plan,subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plan documents. For certain sales roles, Wesco also offers a commission structure that provides additional compensation based on sales results, as defined by the applicable commission plan.
