Position Overview :

The Senior Vice President is responsible for managing the operational and financial performance of a property portfolio comprising approximately 4,000 units within a designated region. This leadership role focuses on delivering exceptional resident experiences, achieving ownership objectives, and ensuring operational efficiency while driving growth and profitability.

What Will You Do?

  • Partner with the President / Chief Operating Officer to effectively communicate and execute corporate objectives.
  • Lead the development and execution of operational strategies for a portfolio of approximately 4000+ units ensuring alignment with key performance indicators, including revenue targets, leasing metrics, growth objectives, and asset quality assurance.
  • Oversee all aspects of operations, including capital projects, customer service (maintenance and sales), tenant retention, and community development initiatives.
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the residential operations team to drive operational and sales performance.
  • Champion the organization’s core values within the community, fostering a culture of integrity, innovation, and excellence.
  • Standardize operational processes across the existing portfolio and integrate best practices for new acquisitions.
  • Invest in talent development by building leadership capabilities and fostering growth within teams.
  • Deliver exceptional standards of customer service, leasing, maintenance, and overall property operations through effective leadership.
  • Develop and enforce policies and governance frameworks to optimize operational efficiency and compliance.
  • Ensure the company complies with all relevant laws, regulations, standards, and policies.
  • Oversee legal matters, including disputes, negotiations, and risk management, as needed.
  • Act as a representative of the organization in interactions with clients, investors, and business partners.
  • Contribute to the development of corporate strategies and participate in project-specific committees to support and advance new initiatives.
  • Lead efforts to build a culture of quality, collaboration, and community engagement.
  • Cultivate a strong team-oriented environment while working with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide ongoing informal feedback, coaching, and mentorship to team members while managing expectations and fostering professional growth.
  • Provide strategic leadership and operational support to Regional Vice Presidents (RVPs), the Director of Marketing, and the Director of Resident Experience.
  • Guide RVPs in developing, implementing, and managing cost-effective and efficient operational strategies tailored to each center.
  • Monitor the daily performance of each region and provide support as needed to ensure operational success.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What Will You Need?

  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce, real estate, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
  • Certified Property Management designation is an asset.
  • 15+ years’ experience in a Leadership role in property management.
  • Background in facilities management, including relevant education and / or hands-on experience.
  • Strong understanding of the principles and components of facilities and capital management.
  • Proven ability to manage large teams and multi-site operations.
  • Strong financial acumen and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Passion for operational excellence and creating exceptional resident experiences.
  • Strong understanding of Sales, Facilities, Operational and Capital Management components.
