Job summary

NTT DATA North America in Halifax, Nova Scotia seeks a Senior Vantage Mainframe Developer to join their client’s team. You will analyze requirements, design, develop, and maintain life/annuity applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and related mainframe technologies, and support testing and deployments.

Qualifications

NTT DATA's Client is currently seeking a Senior Vantage Mainframe Developer to join their team in Halifax, Nova Scotia (CA-NS), Canada (CA).

Job Description

• Perform system and requirement analysis for life and Annuity insurance product development
• Define application design strategies aligned with business and technical requirements
• Prepare technical design documents and develop functionalities to meet the product requirements
• Develop and maintain applications using COBOL, VSAM, JCL, DB2, CICS, Web Services in Mainframe and Microfocus technologies
• Utilize enterprise systems and tools to support development, testing, and deployment activities
• Support system and application testing activities for mission-critical business applications
• Assist in validating system enhancements to ensure alignment with business and technical requirements
• Support System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities
• Ensure system functionality and stability during enhancements and rollouts
• Identify and analyze issues during testing and implementation phases
• Collaborate with development and testing teams to troubleshoot and resolve defects
• Support defect tracking and resolution processes to ensure timely fixes
• Conduct code and design reviews to ensure compliance with project guidelines and specifications
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development and testing processes
• Coordinate daily with offshore teams to communicate requirements and project updates
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and system functionality
• Work effectively within onsite-offshore delivery models across global teams
• Assist in production deployments and post-release validation

Basic Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of Vantage with life/annuity product development and enhancements
• Minimum 5+ years development experience using COBOL, JCL, DB2 in Mainframe and Microfocus
• Travel: This position requires someone who works in NTT Office location Halifax, Novascotia
• Degree: Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
