Job summary

Relic Entertainment, an award-winning game developer, is seeking a Senior UX Designer to join the Vancouver studio. You will shape player experiences by translating complex systems into intuitive UI and HUD elements across strategy titles.

You will drive wireframes, prototypes, and interaction design, collaborating with design, art, and engineering teams to deliver accessible and engaging interfaces for PC, handheld, and console platforms.

Qualifications

Experience designing and prototyping control schemes for PC, handheld, and console.
Experience taking titles from concept to completion.
Excellent communication and documentation skills with clear design descriptions.
Strong knowledge of interaction design tools such as Figma or Adobe XD.
Proven skills in UX methods: contextual inquiry, card sorting, user journeys, personas, wireframes.
Foundational graphic design skills (spacing, layout, typography, imagery).
Curiosity and willingness to learn and grow with us.

Responsibilities

Define front-end, in-game HUD and gameplay interactions through wireframes and prototypes.
Design the logic, layout, and flow of in-game user interface elements to be easy to understand and navigate.
Balance the needs of design, art, player expectations and gameplay for engaging experiences.
Understand the intent of game systems and bring that vision to life via UI.
Champion user experience at every level of the game.
Collaborate across teams to give and receive feedback.
Architect how information is organized and presented to players.
