BDC is seeking a Senior Manager, Underwriting to lead the evaluation and structuring of loan proposals across Canada. You will conduct due diligence, present high‑quality analyses, and ensure risk levels align with BDC policies.

This role emphasizes analytical rigor, commercial lending experience, and cross‑functional collaboration. The successful candidate brings strong credit judgment, a client‑centric approach, and the ability to develop win‑win solutions while navigating complex financing

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in commerce, business administration or accounting.
• Accounting designation or CFA and banking experience are an asset.
• 3 to 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in corporate and/or syndicated financing.
• Experience in loan writing and ability to analyze and structure complex financial deals.
• Strong credit judgement and understanding of credit policies and practices.
• Knowledge of bank products, services and procedures with strong client service.
• Ability to develop win‑win solutions for client and BDC through innovative thinking.
• Strong communication skills to interact with internal partners and clients.
• Good time management and ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong business acumen.
• Team player with understanding of small business dynamics.

Aufgaben

• Underwrite high‑quality proposals after due diligence for medium to high complexity loans.
• Develop terms, pricing, conditions and covenants with thorough credit analysis.
• Review loan packages and negotiate with internal partners on structuring deals.
• Support compliance and changes arising during negotiations and structuring.
• Create win‑win solutions for clients and BDC through innovation.
• Maintain relationships with business center staff and internal partners to ensure policy adherence.
