Job summary

BDC is seeking a Senior Manager, Underwriting – Credit Risk Management to lead credit due diligence and the authorization of complex loan proposals. You will develop well-supported credit recommendations and ensure alignment with policy, while mentoring colleagues.

You will drive disciplined risk assessment, maintain strong client and partner relationships, and stay current with policy changes and regulatory expectations across the Canadian entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in commerce or related field.
• Bilingual English and French required.
• Minimum five years in credit analysis, loan adjudication, commercial lending, or related role.
• CPA or CFA designation is a strong asset.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and authorize loan proposals for moderate to high complexity.
• Perform credit due diligence and risk analysis.
• Prepare well-supported proposals aligned with credit risk standards.
• Negotiate transaction structures with internal partners.
• Coach and mentor new employees and share knowledge.
