Job summary

CHES Special Risk Inc. is hiring in Toronto to join our Team and Professional lines/Medical Malpractice book. You will assist in underwriting, develop business with Binder markets, and work with Retail Brokers to grow our presence.

The role requires 4–5 years of commercial P&C underwriting experience, knowledge of medical malpractice, and relevant designations or in-progress certifications. A hybrid office setup and strong cross-functional collaboration are expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4‑5 years of commercial property and casualty underwriting experience.
• Experience with Medical Malpractice is preferred.
• RIBO/CIP/FCIP designation or in progress is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new business as presented by a broker’s office.
• Achieve assigned monthly sales goals.
• Maintain the existing renewal book and underwrite/ negotiate renewals.
• Produce from and have an existing broker following.
• Monitor Broker results and report to senior management.
• Ensure profitable risk selection and high customer service standards.
