Job summary

BrokerLink is seeking a Commercial Underwriter to join our National Underwriting MGA, Risk-Can team in Canada. If you have commercial underwriting experience and want to broaden your skills in a department handling complex risks, this role offers a hybrid working model.

You will underwrite various commercial lines, ensure proper pricing and documentation, work within authority and rating matrices, and build strong relationships with brokers to support front-line sales.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–5 years of commercial P&C underwriting experience.
• Ability to underwrite and price moderate to complex new business.
• Strong broker relationships and excellent customer service.
• Underwriting authority and adherence to guidelines and contracts.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite various commercial lines for brokers within guidelines and contribute to a profitable portfolio.
• Ensure proper underwriting, pricing, authorizing and documentation of moderate to complex new business submissions.
• Work within established underwriting authority limits, rating matrices and defined guidelines.
• Build strong relationships with brokers by offering insurance solutions.
• Make recommendations to improve department efficiency and effectiveness.
