Job summary

GS Construction seeks a seasoned Superintendent to lead field operations for deep underground utility projects in the Edmonton area. You will coordinate between foremen, crews, and project management, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence on water, sewer, and drainage work.

You’ll manage open-cut excavation, trenching, and live connections, travel between sites, and mentor foremen while delivering on-site leadership and client coordination.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of deep underground utility construction experience.
• 5+ years in a supervisory role.
• Expertise in open-cut excavation, shoring, trenching, and related methods.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and specifications.
• Experience with field software like SALUS, B2W, or Samsara is an asset.
• Valid Class 5 driver's license and ability to travel across sites.

Responsibilities

• Oversee installation, upgrade, and replacement of underground water, sewer, and drainage systems.
• Lead field operations by directing Foremen and managing daily crew performance.
• Monitor production pace against schedule and budget; adjust resources as needed.
• Promote HSE standards and site safety with the Safety Advisor.
• Coordinate traffic control and public safety on active roadways.
• Ensure quality QA and coordinate subcontractors through final acceptance.
