Our work ranges from new infrastructure installation on land development and commercial projects to the rehabilitation and replacement of existing water, sewer, and drainage systems.

Join us

if you’re ready to own your work from start to finish, with a company that backs its field leaders and values who you are as much as the contributions you make.

What We Offer You
  • Safety First: Emphasis on working safely and team well-being.
  • Competitive Wages: Based on experience.
  • Bonuses: Year-end profit sharing.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Access to full benefits without a waiting period.
  • Year-Round Role: Stable, salaried leadership position in a seasonal industry.
  • Training Programs: Opportunities for professional development.
  • Company-Provided Perks: Laptop, cell phone, company vehicle, and gas card.
  • Positive Environment: A supportive, team-first workplace culture.
In this role you will be responsible for the following
  • Deep Utility Construction Oversight – Oversee the installation, upgrade, and replacement of underground water, sewer, and drainage systems, including tie-ins to live systems where projects connect to existing infrastructure. Ensure proper construction methods, using open-cut excavation, benching, or shoring and trench box systems as site conditions require.
  • Field Leadership – Provide on-site leadership by directing and supporting Foremen in managing daily crew operations. Ensure the team is properly resourced, aligned with project goals, and focused on continuous improvement and safety.
  • Production & Schedule Performance – Set the pace for daily production, monitoring progress against schedule and budget and adjusting crews, equipment, or plans to keep work moving efficiently.
  • Safety & Compliance – Promote and uphold HSE standards with a focus on confined space entry, fall protection, trench safety, and traffic control. Work alongside the Safety Advisor during regular site visits to keep crews supported and address any concerns early.
  • Traffic & Public Interface – Where work takes place on active roadways, coordinate with traffic control providers and ensure adherence to traffic accommodation plans and public safety requirements.
  • Project Communication & Coordination – Serve as the primary connection between project management and field teams, ensuring clear communication of project plans, timelines, and objectives.
  • Project Risk & Coordination – Collaborate with project managers to identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies that maintain safety, quality, and schedule.
  • Stakeholder Relationships – Maintain strong relationships with clients, developers, general contractors, vendors, and subcontractors, addressing concerns and resolving issues promptly to support project success.
  • Quality Assurance & Close-Out – Confirm that installations meet design specifications and are ready for inspection and testing. Coordinate subcontractors through surface work and final acceptance.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in deep underground utility construction, including 5+ years in a supervisory role.
  • Expertise in open-cut excavation, benching, trenching, and shoring and trench box systems.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; experience with SALUS, B2W, Samsara or similar field management software is an asset.
  • Safety certifications such as CSTS, First Aid/CPR, Ground Disturbance Level II, Confined Space Entry, and Leadership for Safety Excellence (LSE) are considered assets.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
  • This is a field-focused leadership role. You’ll spend much of your day on active job sites in all kinds of weather.
  • Work takes place on active construction sites with heavy equipment, uneven terrain, and often live underground utilities and active roadways.
  • Daily travel between project sites across the Edmonton area is required (company vehicle provided).
  • Extended hours may be required during the construction season.
