Job summary

CI Financial seeks an experienced Senior TypeScript Developer to design and build scalable applications, mentor junior developers, and contribute to architectural decisions shaping our technology stack. You will work across front-end and back-end systems, emphasizing robust TypeScript solutions and distributed architectures.

The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, conducting code reviews, and driving best practices in testing and performance optimization.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of extensive TypeScript experience in production environments.
• Experience with Node.js and back-end TypeScript development.
• Extensive experience designing and building distributed architectures and microservices.
• Expert-level knowledge of API design principles, RESTful APIs, and/or GraphQL.
• Strong proficiency with PostgreSQL, including schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Experience with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows.
• Strong knowledge of testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha, or similar).
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain TypeScript applications across front-end and back-end systems.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following best practices and design patterns.
• Architect scalable solutions and make technical decisions that align with business objectives.
• Conduct thorough code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Mentor junior and mid-level developers, fostering their technical growth.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Optimize application performance and identify bottlenecks.
• Stay current with TypeScript ecosystem developments and recommend new technologies or approaches.
• Contribute to technical documentation and coding standards.
• Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives.
