Job summary

Suncor is seeking a Senior Turnaround Planner to support the financial planning, forecasting, and stewardship of turnaround activities at the Base Plant Mine in Fort McMurray, Alberta. You will collaborate with Production Units, Finance, Project Controls, and Turnaround teams to develop long-range plans and manage funding requests.

Ideal candidates have 7–10 years of turnaround or maintenance planning experience, SAP and Excel proficiency, and strong analytical skills to drive cost-effective

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field is asset, not required.
• 7–10 years in turnaround planning, maintenance planning, reliability, or related.
• Experience with large industrial facilities such as oil sands, refineries, or petrochemical operations.
• Strong strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and analytical decision-making skills.
• Experience with capital project funding, budgeting, or financial management is an asset.
• Experience using SAP, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Power Platform tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and alignment sessions to develop the 10-year Long-Range Plan (LRP) for MIOT, including costs and benchmarking inputs.
• Prepare and submit the 10-year turnaround financial Long-Range Plan for Budget and Business Plan processes.
• Prepare turnaround funding requests and support approvals throughout lifecycle.
• Consolidate monthly turnaround forecasts, perform variance analysis, and prepare stewardship materials.
