Job summary

Arcadis in Ottawa is seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer (Design) to join our roadway team. The ideal candidate will lead design projects for municipal roads, highways, LRT/BRT corridors, and active transportation facilities, delivering functional, preliminary and detailed designs while mentoring junior staff.

You will review drawings using MicroStation, ORD, AutoCAD and Civil 3D, ensure compliance with TAC and Ontario standards, manage scope, schedule, and budget, and collaborate with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering and PEO registration.
• 10+ years in municipal roadway, highway, transit corridor design, and active transportation.
• Proficiency with MicroStation, ORD, AutoCAD, Civil 3D and related tools.
• Familiarity with TAC Geometric Design Guide, OTM/Ontario standards, and City of Ottawa standards.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and work collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Lead design teams and coordinate engineers, designers, and drafters for deliverables.
• Prepare and review design documents, drawings, specs, and cost estimates.
• Integrate utility, drainage, and grading designs with road and transit projects.
• Ensure designs comply with TAC, MTO, and Ottawa standards; perform quality checks.
• Support tendering, client meetings, and business development in Ottawa/Eastern Ontario.
