Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking a dependable Driver to provide safe, reliable transportation for agency clients, mainly seniors, during the week, evenings and weekends. The role includes assisting with Meals on Wheels deliveries and other driver services as needed.

Hours are Tuesday to Friday from 11:00am to 6:00pm, with travel in the community. The position reports to the Supervisor, Transportation and Community Programs and offers competitive hourly pay and benefits after qualification.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid G driver's license with a clean driving record.
• 5+ years of driving experience.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to assist seniors with varying physical impairments.
• Knowledge of vehicle maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Safe and timely transport of clients to and from their destinations.
• Confirm client identity and drop-off details with two forms of ID.
• Ensure hand-to-hand handoffs to staff or responsible parties at destinations.
• Assist clients entering and exiting the vehicle and with bags as needed.
• Report vehicle issues and maintenance needs to the Supervisor.
