Your Work Environment at EXP

This full-time, career-oriented position is with our growing transportation team. We seek a Senior Transportation Design Engineer / Technologist to expand our traffic and transportation services, develop our design projects, and advance your career.

Your Role & Responsibilities

1. Coordinate planning, design, and construction management of urban and rural transportation projects, including roadway alignments, interchanges, roundabouts, traffic signals, intersections, and active transportation infrastructure.
2. Perform detailed design and inspection of streetlighting and traffic signals for municipal and provincial projects.
3. Prepare construction specifications, drawings, and tender documents.
4. Manage project budgets and schedules.
5. Identify efficient project execution methods and resource needs.
6. Engage with stakeholders such as owners, contractors, utilities, businesses, and the public.
7. Coach, mentor, and develop junior staff.
8. Foster a safe and inclusive work culture.

Qualifications & Experience

1. Degree or Diploma in Transportation or Civil Engineering.
2. 8+ years of experience in Traffic/Transportation design, including roadway alignments, interchanges, roundabouts, signals, intersections, and active transportation infrastructure.
3. P. Eng. designation with PEO or OACETT certification.
4. In-depth knowledge of standards, guidelines, and best practices.
5. Ability to learn and adapt software such as transportation modeling, GIS, AutoCAD, and other applications.
6. Experience with Transportation Demand Management and active transportation facilities assessment.
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD.
8. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
9. Leadership, communication, and team-building abilities.
10. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
11. Ability to work independently and in teams.
12. Effective time management for multiple projects and priorities.
