Job summary

Ciena seeks a hands-on Transmitter SerDes Design Lead to design and deliver high-speed transmitter macros for 224G/448G SerDes in cutting-edge CMOS tech. You will own schematic-level designs, post-layout verification, and collaborate across teams to meet stringent performance goals.

Requirements include a 10+ year track record in high-speed transmitter circuits, experience with DAC-based output stages, serializers, and clocking, and proficiency with industry toolchains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering required.
• 10+ years of industrial experience in high-speed analog/mixed-signal/SerDes transmitter circuitry.
• Experience with transmitter circuit blocks: DAC output, serializers, drivers, clocking.
• Experience with post-layout and extraction-based simulations for Si validation.
• Proficiency with Cadence, Mentor, or Synopsys tools.

Responsibilities

• Own schematic-level design and post-layout verification of transmitter chain blocks.
• Collaborate with management, system designers, and lab teams to meet requirements.
• Evaluate topologies balancing power, area, bandwidth, and tech constraints.
• Work with layout/engineers to achieve full GDSII flow.
• Conduct post-layout extraction simulations to validate performance across PVT.
