The Transportation Planning group is seeking an experienced engineer eager to expand their experience and responsibilities through diverse transportation engineering and planning projects.

The group supports infrastructure projects including transportation planning, traffic operations, safety, modeling, and functional design.

As part of our transportation team, you will provide traffic engineering and transportation planning services to clients.

You will be involved in transportation engineering aspects such as traffic safety, planning, and modeling for municipal, provincial, and private clients.

Duties:

  • Manage and lead projects, support technical analysis, liaise with clients and stakeholders, manage projects, and prepare proposals for public and private clients.
  • Contribute to transportation studies including multi-modal, master plans, environmental assessments, traffic impact studies, TDM, active transportation, and parking studies.
  • Support business development by identifying and qualifying opportunities.
  • Maintain good relationships and communication with clients.
  • Assist with proposal and report preparation related to transportation planning, traffic engineering, and environmental assessments.
  • Coordinate public and agency consultations, including open houses and information sessions.
  • Be familiar with software such as Synchro SimTraffic, Arcady, VISSIM, EMME, and MS Office for analysis and reporting.
  • Design and manage fieldwork like site investigations and traffic data collection.
  • Assist in work analysis and design, including pavement markings, signage, and traffic management plans.
  • Travel for business as needed.
  • Mentor technical staff and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on transportation engineering.
  • Qualified or eligible to practice as a Professional Engineer in Ontario within six months.
  • 10+ years of professional experience, preferably in consulting.
  • Experience with multi-modal transportation infrastructure planning and preliminary design.
  • Knowledge of geometric design and traffic engineering principles.
  • Understanding of demand forecasting and impact analysis techniques.
  • Familiarity with Municipal Class EA process.
  • Strong communication, report writing, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with municipalities is a strong asset.
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s License – Class G, and access to a personal vehicle.
