Job summary

AIMCo, Alberta's premier institutional investor, invites applications for a Senior Trade Settlements Analyst on a 12-month term in Calgary. You will ensure timely settlement and accurate recording of all approved public market investments including equities, fixed income, futures, FX and money market instruments.

You will issue settlement instructions to banks and custodians, support Portfolio Managers and Traders with settlement processes, and help maintain SOPs and system configurations within

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance or Mathematics, plus CSC or CFA designation.
• 4+ years of related experience in the investment industry.
• Advanced understanding of financial markets and settlement practices.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely settlement and recording of all publicly listed transactions (equities, fixed income, futures, FX, money markets).
• Issue settlement instructions to agent banks and custodians to minimize risk of failed trades.
• Provide settlement guidance to Portfolio Managers and Traders for new and existing products.
• Maintain SOPs for key settlement activities and create/maintain settlement instructions in Aladdin and TradeNexus.
• Coordinate asset movements between Custodian and Prime Brokers to optimize funding and settle collateral when needed.
