Position Overview: As the Senior Trade Marketing Manager, you will develop and execute the company’s Annual Trade Marketing strategy in Canada, focusing on driving sales, brand advocacy, and awareness. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage in-store and digital campaigns, analyze KPIs, and oversee product submissions and communications with provincial boards.

This role involves managing the visual merchandising strategy across retail banners, developing promotional calendars, and building impactful retail programs. The position is based remotely in Canada.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement the annual Trade Marketing strategy to increase shopper engagement and compliance with regulations
  • Manage product submission processes and collaborate to meet launch timelines
  • Build and maintain relationships with Provincial Boards
  • Create trade marketing campaigns and establish POS budgets aligned with customer needs
  • Execute business strategies across sales channels to enhance brand positioning
  • Manage distribution of trade materials and assets (3PL)
  • Lead the creation of in-store assets aligned with Canadian customer needs and brand standards
  • Identify and quantify market opportunities with sales and finance teams
  • Manage the Trade Marketing budget, optimizing spends for efficiency
  • Work with analytics and supply chain teams to track promotional performance and revenue targets
  • Forecast and analyze promotional impacts in Canada
  • Coordinate between Brand, Sales, and other teams for strategic alignment
  • Utilize research data to inform retail strategies, focusing on the 4P’s and promotions
  • Create and implement retail marketing and display materials
  • Manage agency and vendor relationships
  • Evaluate ROI on trade initiatives
  • Support new product launches with trade elements and educational tools
  • Conduct post-promotion evaluations and report KPI results
  • Stay informed on retail industry trends to maximize program impact
  • Perform ad hoc duties as required
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience, with at least 3 years in CPG, Alcohol, or Tobacco trade/shopper marketing
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in business
  • Proactive, self-motivated, with a bias for action
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Familiarity with Health Canada cannabis regulations (preferred)
  • Ability to set agendas and lead in lean team environments
  • Experience analyzing consumer research and market trends
  • Financial acumen and budget management skills
  • Proven track record in executing cross-functional projects
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Willingness to travel approximately 15%
