Job summary

SLR Consulting (Canada) seeks a Senior Terrain & Soils Specialist with strong TEM experience to join our British Columbia team. You will provide technical oversight on baseline and environmental assessment projects and help expand TEM capabilities.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in TEM, field mapping, soils descriptions, and proficiency with LiDAR and ESRI GIS. You will mentor junior staff and collaborate with ecologists and project managers on mining and environmental work across BC.

Qualifications

• TEM demonstrated experience through desktop mapping and field surveys.
• Experience mapping surficial materials, terrain/geomorphology, and terrain stability.
• Knowledge of BC terrain classification systems and provincial frameworks.
• Experience describing soils using Canadian System of Soil Classification.
• Experience using LiDAR-derived terrain products and high‑resolution imagery.
• Proficiency in ESRI mapping suite with QA/QC and geodatabase management.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support, oversight and review for TEM, soils and terrain projects.
• Complete and review terrain, surficial geology, soils, and ecosystem mapping deliverables.
• Support planning, fieldwork, office mapping, analysis and reporting.
• Mentor, train and provide technical guidance to field staff.
