Job summary

Bosch Building Technologies North America is seeking a Senior Technician - Security Systems to install, configure and service electronic security solutions across projects. You will review installation blueprints, follow BOMs, and adapt as needed to meet client requirements.

Responsibilities include leading site projects, mentoring junior staff, providing customer training, and maintaining safety standards. Night shifts may be required; strong communication and driving license are essential.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in a technical role within the integrated security industry.
  • Postsecondary training in electronics or equivalent is asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License with clean abstract.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs consistently.
  • Night shift 5pm - 12am may be required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Pre-wiring, installing, programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Lead projects at a site level and mentor junior technicians.
  • Provide customer training and respond to technical inquiries.
  • Administrative duties including project updates and documentation.

Job description

As a Senior Technician - Security Systems with Bosch Building Technologies, you will collaboratively review, understand, analyze, and implement installation blueprints and plans from Project Managers and Sales Teams to complete installations.

This role requires the ability and know how to properly complete the installation, understand and follow the BOM, and be capable of making adjustments or finding alternative solutions as needed to complete installations to client satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Installing and servicing electronic security systems, including access control, CCTV and intrusion alarms
  • Pre-wiring, installing, programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance
  • Prepares and executes Acceptance Testing Plans that meet contract, client and future service needs
  • Assist in system design and layout
  • Provide customer with training for proper system usage, and respond to technical inquiries
  • Relationship building with clients and prospects for future opportunities
  • Administrative duties including project updates to Project Managers, completing and filing all project documentation
  • Perform other tasks as required
  • Support, lead, and mentor team members
  • Design systems and layout

  • Work at required heights utilizing ladders, scaffolding, lifts, or other

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years experience in a technical role within the integrated security industry
  • Postsecondary training in electronics or equivalent is considered an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid Driver’s License with clean abstract
  • Ability to use hand and specialty tools associated with the industry
  • Ability to lift 50lbs consistently
  • Able to work independently
  • Night shift 5pm - 12am may be required

Preferred Qualifications
  • Postsecondary training in electronics or equivalent
  • In-depth knowledge of industry standards and best practices for copper and fiber optic cabling systems
  • Experience leading and managing a team of cabling technicians
  • Vendor Certification in low voltage systems Access Control: Lenel, Software House, Avigilon, Identiv, Honeywell, Open Path, RS2, S2, AMAG, Gallagher, Open Options
  • Intrusion: DMP, DSC, Honeywell, Bosch is preferred
  • Locking Hardware: Maglocks, Strikes, Mortise, Cylindrical, ADA applications
Salary Range

$36.93 – 52.25(DOE)

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, climb, walk, sit, push, pull, squat, crawl, and stoop. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel objects, and type on keyboard; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The use of power tools will be required to effectively perform this position. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may be required to work at heights over 1.8m (6 feet)
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, work on job sites, may be required to travel to and from job site locations, may work in a typical office environment, and is occasionally exposed to construction equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Confined space entry may be required. High work may be required.
