Job summary

A leading company in Canada is seeking a Senior Technician to improve the flexibility of the Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group's vehicle maintenance. This role involves providing administrative and management support, as well as performing various levels of maintenance on B vehicle fleets and trailers. Qualified candidates will have certification in diesel engines, automotive systems experience, and a valid driver’s license. This position requires a Government Security Clearance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 24 months experience in the last 5 years working on Diesel powered systems.
• Must have a valid provincial driver’s license.
• Must be able to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Secret level.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective administration and management.
• Perform Level 1, Level 2, and limited Level 3 maintenance on B vehicle fleets.
• Ensure performance within the confines of the Equipment Fielding Depot.

Job description

Position Overview

Calian is seeking a Senior Technician to assist our client with the facilitation of their project. This role includes improving the flexibility of 2 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group (2CMBG) to pursue training in support of the Canadian Army operational commitments by creating an in-house augmentation capability by using Contracted services. To assist with all 2 CMBG B Vehicle fleets and their associated trailer fleet maintenance. This must encompass all maintenance, mandated modifications, inspections and cannibalization as well as preservation of equipment across the Army.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective administration and management
• Perform Level 1 maintenance (repairs up to 4 hours in duration) including operator's maintenance
• Perform level 2 maintenance (repairs between 4 to 24 hours in duration)
• Perform limited level 3 maintenance (repairs of 24+ hours in duration) functions
• Perform tasks within the confines of the EFD, consisting of B vehicle fleets and trailers

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 24 months experience in the last 5 years working on Diesel powered systems
• Must have a community college Diesel engines certification, or military vehicle technician QL5 qualification, or Coach inter-provincial certification
• Must have a the mechanic red seal
• Must have a minimum of 24 months experience in the last 5 years working on automotive systems (hydraulic, cooling, electrical, etc)
• Must have a a recognized community college automotive trades course certification, or military vehicle technician QL5 qualification or automotive inter-provincial certification
• Must hold a valid provincial driver’s license
• Must hold a 310S or 310T mechanic license

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Secret level
• Work must be provided at the 4 Canadian Division Support Group (4 CDSG), Technical Services (Tech Svcs), Equipment Fielding Depot (EFD), Petawawa, Ontario
