Description of Duties

We are looking for a Technical Writer to produce high-quality documentation and guides for Grafana Labs. You will collaborate with engineers, developer advocates, support engineers, product managers, and the Grafana technical writing team to produce tailored content that ensures our products are easy to learn and rapidly adopted.

Key Responsibilities

1. Work closely with other technical writers, product managers, and internal stakeholders to understand the product and documentation requirements.
2. Plan, research, develop, and write high-quality content for Grafana customers.
3. Interview developers and engineers to gain knowledge of the software and its context.
4. Create content for beginners, such as examples and getting started guides.
5. Collaborate with documentation managers, developer advocates, and other writers to improve existing documentation and the docs site, maintaining a consistent voice and organization.

Requirements

Successful candidates will have experience in:

1. Using or documenting enterprise and/or cloud software for a developer audience.
2. Working with Git and Github.
3. Remote work experience.
4. Software testing services and tools.
5. Working in a docs-as-code environment.

Experience with observability solutions or open source communities is a plus.

You’re passionate about technically accurate content, capable of managing multiple projects, and enjoy both collaborative and independent work. You are familiar with “The Elements of Style”.

Compensation and Benefits

In Canada, the base salary range is $120,927 CAD - $145,113 CAD. Actual compensation varies based on experience and skills. Benefits include equity, bonuses, and other listed perks.
