Job summary

Eidos in Montreal, Canada, seeks a Senior Technical Level Designer to join our creative Design team. You will contribute to environment structure, game flow, and scripted events, collaborating closely with senior directors to optimize engine content.

You bring 5–7+ years in game studios, strong Blueprint scripting, debugging skills, and a passion for tooling, pipelines, and cross‑department teamwork. Hybrid work and a supportive environment are available.

Qualifications

  • 5–7+ years in a video game studio as Technical Level Designer.
  • Proficient with Unreal Engine Blueprint and debugging scripts.
  • Able to solve tool/script related problems.
  • Familiar with production workflows in game development.
  • Able to collaborate across departments and document workflows.

Senior Technical Level Designer
Reports to: Game Design Director
Permanent – Full-Time

The team

Come and join a design team on a unique mandate in a genre with high narrative and adventure content. We're looking for our Technical Level Designer, to complement our very senior creative team. Each of us contributes more than just our title; we're looking for a colleague with the same broader interest in the project as a whole. We achieve this through our contributions both at high level (management) and directly in the creation of engine content. If you identify with this description, then we need to talk!

What you will do
  • Implement the game’s environment structure in collaboration with the team;
  • Implement game flow and progression;
  • Set-up and implement scripted events;
  • Investigate and improve existing systems according to project needs;
  • Manage the streaming and performance of environments and gameplay elements;
  • Optimize and debug environments and gameplay elements;
  • Create technical documentation and serve as its advocate within the team;
  • Author collaborative pipelines, alongside the Directors.
What you bring
  • Minimum of 5 to 7+ years of experience in a video game studio as Technical Level Designer;
  • Working knowledge of Blueprint system in Unreal Engine and script debugging;
  • Ability to resolve problems that arise with the tools/scripts;
  • Technical knowledge of video game development tools and production workflow;
  • Ability to organize and structure own work;
  • Ability to work in collaboration with the other departments;
  • Ability to work within a team focused on constant improvement;
  • Ability to learn and share knowledge.

  • Experience in programming (C++, LUA, Python, etc).
