The Senior Tax Compliance Advisor is responsible for providing expert leadership and oversight in the areas of taxation, regulatory reporting, and financial planning to support CCC’s domestic and international operations. The position leads the assessment of direct and indirect tax implications arising from business activities and pursuits, ensures compliance with applicable tax legislation and reporting obligations, and serves as the primary point of contact with tax authorities and external advisors on complex tax matters.

What you’ll be doing
  • Assess domestic and international tax implications of CCC’s business activities and pursuits, including evaluating permanent establishment risks and indirect tax obligations in various jurisdictions.
  • Engage with external tax advisors and consultants to analyze CCC’s service offerings and operational activities and provide recommendations to ensure compliance with applicable tax legislation.
  • Support the organization’s indirect tax compliance framework, including assessing the applicability of Canadian GST/HST, provincial sales taxes, and excise taxes to supplies facilitated and services provided by CCC.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and evaluate potential impacts on business activities and reporting requirements.
  • Review and oversee the preparation of tax filings, including GST/HST returns and other recurring tax filings, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely submission.
  • Maintain supporting documentation and assist in the enhancement of tax processes and internal controls.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with the Canada Revenue Agency and other tax authorities on tax-related matters, including responding to inquiries, managing audits, coordinating information requests, and engaging external advisors as required to support the resolution of tax matters.
  • Lead and support ad hoc financial and business analyses to inform support strategic decision-making and assess organizational performance.
What you’ll bring to CCC
  • Completion of an undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, business or commerce
  • Completion of, or progress toward, a specialized tax designation (e.g., CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course, Master of Taxation, or equivalent) would be considered a strong asset.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting services and/or business services
  • Experience interpreting and applying Canadian tax legislation, including GST/HST and other indirect taxes.
  • Experience assessing tax implications of business transactions and operational activities, including coordination with external tax advisors on complex tax matters.
  • Experience liaising with the Canada Revenue Agency and/or other regulatory bodies, including supporting audits, inspections, and information requests.
  • Knowledge of international taxation concepts, including cross-border transactions and permanent establishment considerations, would be considered an asset.
  • English Essential, Bilingualism in both official languages strongly recommended
