Benevity is seeking a dynamic Senior Tax Analyst to join our high-growth Global Tax team for a defined-term maternity leave cover. This role offers exposure to Canadian, US, and European tax filings, transfer pricing, VAT, and ASC 740 US GAAP reporting within a fast-paced SaaS environment.

You will collaborate with Finance, Legal, and Product teams to embed tax expertise into core business initiatives and lead cross-functional tax projects that accelerate global growth.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation and execution of Canadian corporate tax filings as the primary authority on compliance across Canada, the US, and Europe.
  • Coordinate US and European corporate tax filings with precision and autonomy as part of the international compliance strategy.
  • Own the transfer pricing lifecycle, from methodology execution to monthly reporting and calculations.
  • Serve as a technical advisor for charitable foundation groups, supporting tax compliance and providing guidance.
  • Oversee the end-to-end indirect tax compliance cycle: US sales tax filings with Avalara, Canadian sales tax filings with Procure-to-Pay, and international VAT filings with external providers.
  • Architect the consolidated tax provision process in accordance with ASC 740 US GAAP, aligning with global financial goals.
  • Lead high-level advisory with Treasury, Accounting, and Financial Reporting teams to safeguard tax disclosures and deferred tax strategies.
  • Own corporate reporting outputs, delivering actionable insights to Tax Leadership.
  • Conduct research into complex tax issues to support compliance, reporting, and planning in the SaaS ecosystem.
  • Design and deliver training programs to elevate tax literacy across key business units.
  • Proactively interpret new Canadian and international legislation to optimize Benevity's tax position.
  • Act as the definitive subject matter expert for internal finance and operations teams, solving critical tax challenges autonomously.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and Product teams to embed tax expertise into core business initiatives.
  • Drive special projects and high-impact tax initiatives to support rapid growth and scale of global operations.

What You’ll Do
Tax Compliance
  • Lead the preparation and execution of Canadian corporate tax filings, serving as the primary authority on compliance across Canada, the US, and Europe.
  • Manage the international compliance strategy by coordinating US and European corporate tax filings with precision and autonomy.
  • Take ownership of the transfer pricing lifecycle, from methodology execution to monthly reporting and calculations.
  • Serve as a technical advisor for charitable foundation groups, supporting tax compliance and providing technical guidance.
  • Manage the end-to-end indirect tax compliance cycle to ensure global accuracy:
    • Execute and finalize US sales tax filings utilizing Avalara;
    • Coordinate with the Procure-to-Pay team to assist with, review, and finalize Canadian sales tax filings;
    • Oversee the timely preparation and finalization of international VAT filings in partnership with external service providers.
Tax Reporting
  • Architect the consolidated tax provision process in accordance with ASC 740 US GAAP, ensuring strategic alignment with global financial goals.
  • Lead high-level advisory with Treasury, Accounting, and Financial Reporting teams to safeguard the integrity of tax disclosures and deferred tax strategies.
  • Own corporate reporting outputs, providing actionable insights that inform Tax Leadership.
Tax Research
  • Conduct research into complex tax issues to support compliance, reporting, and planning solutions within the SaaS ecosystem.
  • Design and deliver expert-led training programs that elevate the tax literacy and operational efficiency of key business units.
  • Proactively interpret and capitalize on new legislation in Canada and international jurisdictions to optimize Benevity's tax position.
  • Act as the definitive subject matter expert for internal finance and operations teams, solving critical tax challenges autonomously.
