Job summary

Ultra Maritime seeks a Senior Systems Engineer II to lead multi-disciplinary projects for the Royal Canadian Navy in the Anti-Submarine Warfare domain. You will manage technical work packages, influence complex decisions, and ensure cost and quality controls while maintaining a security clearance.

Responsibilities include leading system design, defining integration and verification strategies, and mentoring team members across the lifecycle.

Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline.
9+ years of experience in the Systems Engineering field, ideally in naval defense or a complex engineering environment.
Working knowledge in EMI/EMC design, planning, and environmental qualifications.
Desirable: sonar systems and naval deployment experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to interface with senior management and external customers.
Experience with DOORS, UML, ERP and Configuration Management tools.

Responsibilities

Applies breadth and depth of engineering skills to solve complex problems within time, cost and quality constraints.
Defines and manages system and subsystem requirements.
Leads System Design through functional and non-functional analysis.
Defines the Integration, Verification and Validation strategy and manages this throughout the program.
Mentors and coaches staff to support development and retention goals.
Champions change and drives continuous improvement within the field.
