Senior Systems Developer (Data Operations)

Job Summary

The IT Investment Solutions Group (ISG) at HOOPP is looking for a permanent, full-time Sr. Systems Developer to join the Data Operations team. The team manages investment-related data assets, providing innovative technical solutions to enable confident, data-driven decisions and improve data literacy.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, and users to understand and solve business problems.
• Develop high-quality queries, views, and stored procedures.
• Participate in design sessions, code reviews, and support development efforts.
• Build tailored solutions for multiple users.
• Engage in Agile Scrum practices including daily standups and sprint planning.
• Contribute to design, planning, documentation, and retrospectives.
• Provide technical coaching and mentorship.
• Design, build, and support new features; resolve issues across the software stack.
• Prioritize technical improvements for sustainable software development.
• Participate in application support rotation and scheduled maintenance.
• Diagnose and resolve complex production issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of development experience in the data domain, including vendor data onboarding.
• Experience with data operations, incident management, and cloud services (AWS preferred).
• Strong knowledge of system integrations, ETL/ELT, automation, and CI/CD.
• Experience with RDBMS (SAP Hana, SQL Server, Snowflake) and scripting (PowerShell, Python, SQL, Bash).
• Effective in agile environments, with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Knowledge of software development patterns, security principles, and IT governance.
• Experience in capital markets or financial industry is an asset.
