JOB DESCRIPTION

Irving Shipbuilding is one of the most modern shipyards in North America, known for its pace and appetite for change. The company is building over 20 Arctic and Offshore Patrol Ships and River-Class Destroyers as part of the largest and most complex shipbuilding initiative in Canadian history. As a key member of the IT team, you will impact the design and enhancements that ensure an excellent digital experience for the enterprise. You will collaborate with the Infrastructure Design team to deliver products and solutions, support and maintain lifecycle services, and meet business and operational requirements using industry best practices. This position will drive adherence to best practices, standardization, automation, and provide leadership in an agile framework.

This position requires full-time on-site presence.

All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Process improvement of infrastructure support processes across all Tiered support levels
• Automate processes to enhance operational efficiency and repeatability
• Provide coaching, mentoring, and share technical knowledge effectively
• Lead technical planning, workload estimation, and implementation of products and solutions
• Implement infrastructure products and solutions
• Establish best practices and policies for infrastructure management and security
• Research and recommend products, services, protocols, and standards to improve operations
• Monitor capacity and performance, recommending enhancements as needed
• Participate in an on-call rotation to support customers
• Perform system administration tasks to ensure stability of critical solutions

QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: University Degree, College Diploma, or relevant experience
• 8+ Years of experience in complex IT environments
• Knowledge of Systems: Active Directory, Server OS (Windows/Linux), Virtualization, Storage, Backup Services
• Experience with Cisco hardware and Citrix
• Understanding of industry best practices
• Attention to detail in planning and prioritization
• Effective communication skills, comfortable with management interactions

Bonus Skills

• Certifications such as Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert, Azure Expert, DevOps Expert
• PowerShell, Ansible, Cloud Platforms (Azure, AWS)
• ITIL Foundations, Six Sigma Yellow Belt
