Job summary

Informanix Technology Group seeks a Senior Systems Administrator to lead and contribute to complex infrastructure, security, and operations across multiple managed clients. This role is remote but must be based in Winnipeg, MB.

You will oversee infrastructure health and security posture for 100 client organizations, focusing on automation and process improvements while delivering technical projects with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• 15 years of progressively senior, hands on technology practitioner roles.
• Expert knowledge of Windows Endpoint Operating Systems.
• Expert knowledge of Windows Server Operating Systems.
• Expert knowledge of Cloud/IaaS (Azure, AWS, GCP).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct contribution to technical delivery projects under minimal supervision
• Act as an expert level resource to a wide variety of client matters
• Produce engineering level documentation on configurations and proposed changes
• Conduct scheduling and follow ups of current and open issues and projects as required
• Provide Tier 4 level technical support assistance to clients as required
• Escalate issues as required
• Document issues and resolutions
• Participate in staff “group chat” and staff meetings
• Other items as necessary

You don’t need to be asked to respond to a problem, you’re already on it the second it comes up. Better yet, you anticipated the issue, and developed a work around before it became a problem.

The Role

Informanix is looking for a “Senior Systems Administrator” to lead and contribute to complex infrastructure, security, and technology operations across a wide range of managed clients. This position is work from home, but must be based in Winnipeg, MB.

As part of our SMB IT Solutions Group, you’ll have direct responsibility for the infrastructure health, and security posture of 100 different client organizations supporting some 3000 end users. You’ll need to have an eye for automation and process improvements.

The role is extremely technical, and client project delivery requirements will have you at the forefront of the IT industry, working with the latest tools, frameworks, and technologies. You are a big picture person, but also have a keen eye for detail, and a propensity for technological rigor. The job can be stressful at times, but you know how to manage client’s expectations.

You recognize that filling out tickets and documenting activities are a fact of life. No one likes doing them, but they need to be done well.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Required Skills

• 15 years of progressively senior, hands on technology practitioner roles
• Expert knowledge of Windows Endpoint Operating Systems
• Expert knowledge of Windows Server Operating Systems
• Expert knowledge of hypervisor and containerization technologies (VMWare, Hyper‑V, Kubernetes, ProxMox)
• Working knowledge of Cloud/IaaS (Azure, AWS, GCP)
• Expert knowledge of Backup & Recovery architectures and toolsets (Rubrik, Veeam)
• Expert knowledge of corporate networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)

Additional Skills

• Certifications in any of the above is an asset
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Exchange Online / M365 an asset
• Expert knowledge of PBX systems an asset
