Job summary

KuriosIT, a GCM Group subsidiary, seeks a System Administrator to manage and secure IT infrastructures in a regulated environment (GxP/pharmaceutical) with production uptime priority. The role requires vigilance in monitoring, documentation, and compliance while enabling efficient IT operations and project contributions.

90% of work is in Montreal-area offices with 1–2 days per week on client sites. A flexible work policy supports office and home-based arrangements, fostering work-life balance

Qualifications

• Experience in Windows server administration and Windows file server administration.
• Active Directory administration experience and GPO management.
• Experience with Veeam or similar backup systems and data protection.
• Experience with hyperconverged infrastructure and server lifecycle management.
• Familiarity with change management processes and incident handling.

Responsibilities

• Manage the hyperconverged virtual environment and ensure availability of production IT infrastructure.
• Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, and authentication systems.
• Maintain Veeam backup solutions for data protection and compliance with retention policies.
• Perform patches, upgrades and lifecycle management per change controls.
• Monitor system health, performance, backups, and security tooling to ensure reliability and continuity.
• Coordinate with suppliers for support, upgrades, and maintenance.

Job summary :

As a System Administrator, you will be responsible for managing, operating and securing IT infrastructures in a regulated environment (GxP/pharmaceutical). You will ensure the availability and performance of systems in production, contribute to IT projects and monitor the quality and compliance of the systems under your responsibility. Documentary rigor, accountability and adherence to established procedures are essential in this role.

Requires 1 to 2 days a week at our customer's site in Montreal.

Main responsibilities:

• Manage the hyperconverged virtual environment
• Administer Active Directory, Group Policy Options (GPOs), domain services and authentication systems
• Administer the Veeam backup system to ensure data protection, recovery and compliance with retention requirements
• Perform patch, upgrade and system lifecycle management in accordance with change management procedures
• Monitor health, performance, backups, and antivirus systems to ensure operational reliability and business continuity
• Ensure hardware management and support, including maintenance and troubleshooting of servers and infrastructure equipment
• Minimize downtime through rapid response and efficient resolution of incidents affecting production
• Troubleshoot and resolve IT incidents, prioritizing quality and production continuity
• Coordinate with external suppliers for support, upgrades, maintenance and problem resolution

IT projects

• Participate in options analysis, design, documentation and commissioning activities
• Install and configure new or upgraded systems
• Coordinate with external suppliers and service providers for support, upgrades and maintenance
• Provide Level 2 support for troubleshooting and resolving escalated IT incidents

Documentation

• Create and maintain accurate system documentation

Technical requirements :

• Experience in Windows server administration
• Experience in Windows file server administration
• Experience in Windows cluster administration
• Active Directory administration experience
• Experience in administering virtualized environments
• Experience in system maintenance activities (patches, upgrades, lifecycle management)
• Experience in systems monitoring (health, performance, backups, etc.)
• Experience in Veeam or similar system administration
• Ideally experience in Nutanix administration
• Ideally experience in Checkpoint administration
• Ideally experience in ManageEngine administration
