Job summary

Northern Lights College in Dawson Creek is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to maintain and secure enterprise systems across our campuses. You will manage on-prem and cloud components, support staff and students, and work with a tight-knit IT team.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years' experience as a System Administrator or in a related role.
• Experience with Microsoft Exchange in a hybrid deployment and with SIEM technologies.
• Proficiency with Active Directory, PowerShell, Power Automate, and the Microsoft O365/Azure environment, with solid knowledge of Windows Server and data governance/security.
• Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills in planning, designing, installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining IT infrastructure.
• Self-motivated with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and support systems hardware and software solutions
• Ensure maintenance, backup/recovery, management, security, and accessibility of mission-critical enterprise systems and data
• Oversee the cleanliness and performance of on-premises servers and systems
• Design, plan, and implement new systems in collaboration with the infrastructure team, vendors, contractors, consultants, and other third parties
• Provide support to staff and students regarding NLC's systems infrastructure
• Mentor IT team members in the use, management, and administration of systems, utilities, and resources
